This website was created to help with the daunting task of preparedness.  But preparedness is not just for some future emergency situation.  Preparedness is helping you feel at ease as prices go up, food shortages occur, and when you're in a hurry and nothing is thawed.  Having a "little bit" on the shelf helps the budget by enabling you to buy when it is on sale, rather then paying full price when it is needed.

My mother taught me to always keep some extra food on the shelf "just in case" and this is just an extension of the good advice she gave me.  I offer that same good advice to you.

Some great council -- do not despair,
but prepare!

With the failing economy and all the wicked things going on in this country and in the world around us, we may have fear of what's ahead for us.

President Thomas S. Monson said,
"From the holy scriptures we read, 'Behold, the righteous, the saints of the Holy One of Israel, they who have believed in [Him], they who have endured the crosses of the world, … they shall inherit the kingdom of God, … and their joy shall be full forever.'

"I testify to you that our promised blessings are beyond measure. Though the storm clouds may gather, though the rains may pour down upon us, our knowledge of the gospel and our love of our Heavenly Father and of our Savior will comfort and sustain us and bring joy to our hearts as we walk uprightly and keep the commandments. There will be nothing in this world that can defeat us.

"My beloved brothers and sisters, fear not. Be of good cheer. The future is as bright as your faith."
